Could be the time to see the Dentist?
Modern Dentistry is about more than just teeth. While traditional dentistry evaluates primarily the teeth, bones, and gums, neuromuscular dentistry has proven the necessity for including the power source (muscles) and the controls (nerves) which create the movement, pressures, and function of the mouth.
The jaw joint is the only articulation that ends its movement on hard tissue (the teeth) and when the jaw is misaligned, both the hard and soft tissues are affected and many physiological problems can result, such as:
- headaches and migraines,
- depression and nervousness,
- tinnitus or ringing in the ears,
- frequent ear congestion,
- limited mouth opening,
- vertigo or dizziness,
- facial pain,
- neck and shoulder pain,
- unexplained wear and teeth mobility,
- dificulty chewing and swallowing,
- clicking or popping sounds in the joint,
- tingling in the finger tips,
- postural problems,
- sensitive teeth.
Neuromuscular Dentistry places the occlusion where the muscles that control the jaw position are at their best for optimal function and comfort.
